I have been selected to contest the upcoming Local Election for Fine Gael in the new Kanturk/Charleville Municipal District of Cork County Council. Up to now, Charleville, Newtownshandrum and Ballyhea areas were serviced by the Fermoy Municipal District which will now change back to the new Kanturk/Charleville Municipal District after the Local Elections in May 2019. I will also be contesting the next General Election for Fine Gael in the constituency of Cork North West.
I have been an elected Councillor in Cork County Council since 2009 and that role has given me a great insight into the needs of the people in the area and how I as a public representative can assist the public at local level.
Under the leadership of An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar TD, I know I can play a very positive role in representing you, both at a local and a national level. It is my intention, if re-elected to Cork County Council in May 2019, to be your strong voice for Kanturk/Charleville Municipal District Area of Cork County Council.
The Fine Geal party’s ambition for Ireland is to build a Republic of Opportunity – supporting you and your family, strengthening your community and building a sustainable future for everyone. The party is focused on protecting our economy and making people’s lives better, particularly for hard-pressed working families.
I want to make sure that the Kanturk/Charleville Municipal District and surrounding areas share in this opportunity and if re-elected as a member of Cork County Council on May 24th next, I will work tirelessly to ensure the people of North Cork will benefit from this opportunity.
I would urge people to come out on May 24th next and Vote No; 1 for O’Shea, John Paul – To make your voice heard on Cork County Council.
