Cllr. O’ Shea urges public to avail of services available at three Recycling Centres in North Cork

North Cork Independent Councillor John Paul O’ Shea (Ind) is encouraging the public to avail of the services provided at Cork County Council’s three Recycling Centres in North Cork.

All three recycling centres based in Kanturk, Mallow & Millstreet can accept materials such as domestic household waste / black bag waste, food waste, green waste, dry recycling material such as cardboard, newspapers, magazines, glass bottles and jars and bulky materials such as beds, mattresses, carpet, lino, sofas and settees, and many more waste materials. This is only a small portion of the materials accepted at the centres.

Encouraging the use of services at the recycling centres in Kanturk, Mallow & Millstreet, Cllr. O’ Shea said “Management and staff of all three Recycling Centres are working hard to establish the centres as a major asset and amenity for the areas they cover in North Cork. All centres are very well utilised but I want to encourage those who for whatever reason up to now have not availed of the centres to do so over the coming weeks. Cork County Council continues to encourage people to start recycling and to repeat this practice frequently – a regular trip to the recycling centre, say once or twice a month means that for no more than €3 entry fee per visit, most households can dispose of the majority of their recyclable materials in a safe and proper manner”.

1. Where the sites are open all day (09.00 am – 4.30 pm), they will close from 12.30 pm until 1.30 pm for lunch, unless otherwise stated by Cork County Council.
