To mark the 50th anniversary of the official opening of County Hall Cork County Council is launching a photography competition titled “Your Council Buildings”.
The competition provides a golden opportunity to capture images of other Cork County Council buildings throughout the county.
Photographers are invited to submit images that showcase Council buildings including Office Buildings, Libraries, Fire Stations, Swimming Pools, Tourist Attractions, Town Halls plus many more.
Speaking at the launch, Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Declan Hurley is asking people to get creative and think about where Cork County Council and its buildings play a part in their community, “Cork County Council provides a broad range of services across all of our towns and villages. I am asking everyone to get their cameras or phones and take a picture of the Council buildings in their area. Your photo could be the winner!”
The competition is FREE to enter with cash prizes awarded for 1st place €300, 2nd place €150 and 3rd place €50 in each of the 3 divisions; North, South and West Cork.
These 9 finalists will then go forward and compete for overall awards of 1st place €600, 2nd place €250 & 3rd place €150.
The closing date for receipt of entries is Saturday June 30th 2018 with judging taking place shortly afterwards. All entrants will be invited to the presentation of prizes in County Hall where all the photos submitted will form part of a digital exhibition. This exhibition will then tour the County Libraries throughout the summer.
