Cork North West Fine Gael General Election candidate Councillor John Paul O’Shea has welcomed approval of planning permission for an extension at Liscarroll National School.
Permission was sought by the Board of Management at Liscarroll National School in June for an extension to the rear of the existing school, consisting of one mainstream classroom with en-suite toilets and two special-education teacher support rooms. Planning was approved by Cork County Council in recent days.
Cllr. O’Shea, who supported the application, welcomed the planning approval. “This is positive news on two levels – firstly the extra mainstream classroom with en-suite toilets which will complement the existing mainstream classrooms at the school, and secondly the school’s plans for two special-education teacher support rooms, that will provide a proper environment for special-education teaching.
“My complements to everyone at Liscarroll National School on this successful planning application; I look forward to seeing construction commencing on the new extension in the near future,” Cllr. O’Shea commented.
