Planning Process Commences on New Fire Station for Kanturk
Cork County Council has this week commenced the statutory planning process to construct a new Fire Station in the North Cork town of Kanturk.
 
The new station which will be located on Percival Street in the town will provide accommodation for two fire appliances and will also feature automatic doors, assembly room, kitchen facilities, watch room, toilets, showers, store room, forecourt and drilling yard.  
 
Welcoming the commencement of the planning process for the new Fire Station in Kanturk, North Cork Independent Councillor John Paul O’ Shea said “I am extremely pleased the planning for the new fire station has commenced. The new station will be a tremendous asset to the town of Kanturk and the catchment are that the station serves. It will also provide the much needed enhanced facilities for the retained firefighters operating in Kanturk”.
 
A copy of the planning report outlining the proposed works are available for inspection at Kanturk Library, Main St., Kanturk & County Hall until Friday 10th March 2017. Members of the public will have the opportunity to make submissions and observations on the proposed scheme for a further two week period up to 24th March 2017.
