The Rural Broadband Scheme is designed to identify areas of rural Ireland where households and businesses are unable to obtain a broadband service, either directly from broadband providers, or through the National Broadband Scheme.
So far over 2,000 applications have been received by the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, since they began accepting applications on May 9th. There are parts of the Mallow Electoral Area that are unable to get a broadband service, and those who wish to obtain one should apply to the Department before July 29th.
