78 Community Groups in Kanturk/Mallow Area Benefit Cork County Council Community Funding

78 Community Groups in Kanturk/Mallow Area Benefit Cork County Council Community Funding

78 community groups in Kanturk/Mallow Area benefit from Cork County Council Community Funding

The Kanturk/Mallow Municipal Authority of Cork County Council has this week awarded €235,000 to 78 community & voluntary groups throughout the Kanturk/Mallow area as part of its annual contributions scheme.

The contributions have been given to a variety of groups including Tidy Towns Committees, Resident Associations, GAA Clubs, Community Councils, Youth Clubs, Development Associations and many sporting organisations.

Welcoming the allocations, Cllr. O’Shea complimented each of the 78 community & voluntary groups who received funding across the three funding schemes: community contract, capital fund and amenity contribution.

“The commitment of Cork County Council to allocate grants to these deserving communities is a very welcome and positive move. Each of the 78 local groups who have received funding have demonstrated forward-thinking and exciting projects. This funding will further enhance their facilities and amenities which will have a positive effect on their local communities as well as the wider North Cork region,” he said.

The various contributions scheme supports community and voluntary groups who wish to build new or improve their existing facilities in their respective communities. The scheme can also be used for groups to purchase necessary equipment for their community facilities. Cllr.
