Approval for New Housing Development in Cloughduv

Approval for New Housing Development in Cloughduv

Cork North West Fine Gael TD John Paul O’Shea has welcomed the approval by Cork County Council of planning permission for a new housing development in Cloughduv, Co. Cork.

The development, which will see 8 new homes built in the village, represents a significant boost to the local housing supply in the area. There will be four X 1 beds, two X 2 beds and two X 3 beds built in this development.

“I am delighted to welcome this positive news for Cloughduv,” said Deputy O’Shea. “These 8 new homes will help address the ongoing housing needs in our community while supporting the sustainable growth of the village.”

The Deputy noted that the development will help meet local housing demand while respecting the character of the rural community.

“Cloughduv has been crying out for additional housing options for local families who wish to remain in the area. This development strikes the right balance between providing much-needed homes while maintaining the unique character of our village,” he added.

Deputy O’Shea highlighted that the new development would benefit the wider community by supporting local businesses and services.

“New residents will help strengthen our community, support local businesses, and ensure the continued viability of services in the area. This is precisely the type of sustainable development we need to see in rural Cork.”

The Deputy also acknowledged the support of local councillors and Cork County Council Housing staff that led to this approval.

“I want to commend all parties involved in bringing this project to fruition. Well-planned developments like this one are essential for the future vitality of our rural communities.”

Construction is expected to commence in the coming months.
