Charleville’s Town Park is in for a major revamp with new pathways, public lighting, benches and planting being installed over the coming weeks.
Contractors have mobilised this week commencing the long awaited works in the Town Park. Commenting on the commencement of works, North Cork Fine Gael Councillor John Paul O’Shea said “This is exciting news for Charleville. The Town Park is very well utilised by the people of Charleville and surrounding areas. We recently upgraded the playground in the Park and we are now moving on with revitalising the Park itself. I look forward to seeing these works completed over the coming weeks”.
Cllr O’Shea added “New pathways, ducting, light column bases, columns and LED public lighting works have commenced this week. This will be complemented by new planting and the installation of new park benches. We are very grateful to Tomar Trust for providing funding for this project with match funding coming from the Charleville’s Town Development Fund of Cork County Council. I am glad to see we are continuing to invest in our community and recreational facilities for the people of Charleville and I hope the community will enjoy them for the Summer of 2021 once completed”.
The carpark adjacent to the playground will be out of commission for approximately 3 weeks during the upgrade and patrons are advised to use the Town Car Park on Park Road for the duration.
