The Kanturk Branch of the Fine Gael Party recently held their Annual General Meeting. The meeting was attended by members from the town and was one of optimism following the addition of Cllr. John Paul O’Shea to the Fine Gael Party. Cllr O’Shea was welcomed by all members and gave very comprehensive report on the work both he and Fine Gael colleague Cllr Gerard Murphy are doing both locally in Kanturk and around the constituency.
Incoming Chair, Conor Breen, wished Cllr O’Shea the very best of luck in the upcoming selection convention after confirming that Cllr. O’Shea received his first branch nomination for the convention, ‘ Cllr John Paul O’Shea is a proven hard worker for people and communities, and we as a branch, look forward to working with him closely around Kanturk and the surrounding areas.’
Concluding Cllr. John Paul O’Shea said, ‘I am delighted to meet with the members of Fine Gael in Kanturk at their AGM and is looking forward to working with them over the coming year. Kanturk is a very positive country market town and the Government is currently rolling out many initiatives to assist towns like Kanturk to make it a better place to live and work in. As one of the local representatives for Kanturk, I will do my utmost to assist in this regard.’
