Independent Cllr. John Paul O’ Shea today (19th September) warmly welcomed the news that Mallow & Kanturk Civic Amenity Sites will be opened and fully opertional next month. After much delay regarding the operational structure of the sites since their construction, Cllr. O’ Shea has said staff training will commence next week and both facilities will be mobilised for opening in early October.
Cllr. O’ Shea said “The news that both civic amenity sites will open in October is indeed very welcome news for the people of Mallow and Kanturk and its hinterlands of which both Civic Amenity Sites serve. The need for these sites is indeed warranted and gladly now Cork County Council is in the position to open these facilites for the people of Mallow and Kanturk. Staff training is commencning shortly and both facilities are being commissoned in the coming weeks to ensure both amenity sites can operate fully when opened”.
