North Cork Fine Gael Councillor John Paul O’Shea has welcomed the progress in the construction of four new units for the Charleville Sheltered Housing Services at their complex at Love Lane, Charleville.
Construction of Phase 1 of the housing project has been ongoing since the sod-turning in December 2018. Phase 2 will involve the building of eight more houses which has been approved in principal by the Department of Housing.
Commenting this week, Cllr. O’Shea said: “It is great to see such good progress on this project. Much work has already been completed and the result to date is very impressive and in keeping with the wider area. I was present at the sod-turning ceremony so it is nice to see how far the project has progressed in a short space of time.
“Housing is a major, primary focus for this government and the units being constructed here are first-rate. These are age-friendly, high-quality houses which are close to vital public services in a central location in Charleville town. I look forward to the completion of these four houses in Phase 1 and I am fully behind the planned second phase, which will involve the construction of eight more houses,” Cllr. O’Shea said.
