This is the fourteenth year of the Pride of Place competition which has enjoyed great success and continues to grow in prestige and popularity year after year. It is a unique opportunity for community groups to be officially recognised on an all-island basis for the valuable work undertaken in their local areas.
The purpose of the competition is to acknowledge the great work being done by communities all over Ireland. It is recognition of the work being done to create viable, vibrant and visible communities. It is also about giving local authorities the opportunity to participate in the heart of their communities and contribute to the growth of these communities.
Cork County Council is delighted to nominate Killeagh/Inch, Douglas, and Glash Community School Ltd. for the 2016 awards and wishes to congratulate all entrants on their great efforts in preparing for the 2016 awards. As always the Council is proud to support our local communities and would like to take this opportunity to wish all entrants the very best of luck.
