There will now be great assurance for these residents into the future as the core services such as roads, public lighting and water can be maintained directly by the statutory authorities such as Cork County Council and Irish Water”.

The list of 91 estates have been issued by way of a public notice on newspapers this week allowing for a statutory period (up to the 12th June) for the public to make a submission on the estates to be taken in charge. A report on the submissions (if any) will then be considered by a meeting of the full council with a view to formally taking these estates in charge.
