Friday 4th October 2013 is the polling day for the referenda on the Abolition of Seanad Éireann and the Court of Appeal Bill 2013. Polling will take place between the hours of 7am and 10pm.
Persons who are eligible to vote but who are not registered as electors can apply up to Tuesday 17th September 2013 to their local authority for entry on the supplement to the register of electors to be published before polling day and so be able to vote on 4th October 2013.
Cllr. O’ Shea said “The electoral register is constantly changing with new names being added as young people reach the voting age of 18 or indeed as people come to live in the new Kanturk/Mallow Electoral Area. If you need to register as a new voter or need to change your vote to a new address in the area, you will need to complete a simple form which can be obtained from your local library, post office or Garda station”.
