Double Child Benefit and Christmas Bonus to be Paid Next Week – O’Shea

Double Child Benefit and Christmas Bonus to be Paid Next Week – O’Shea

Thursday 28th November 2024

  • Double Child Benefit to be paid to almost 680,000 families
  • Christmas Bonus to support our pensioners, carers and people with disabilities

Thousands of families and households in Cork North West will benefit from a Double Child Benefit Payment and the Christmas Bonus next week, according to Fine Gael General Election Candidate Councillor John Paul.

The Double Child Benefit will be paid on Tuesday to support families with the Cost of Living in the lead of up Christmas.

Also next week, the Christmas Bonus will be paid to 1.4 million people, including our pensioners, carers, people with disabilities.

Cllr. O’ Shea said:

‘I’m really pleased to announce that the Double Child Benefit Payment and the Christmas Bonus will be paid next week, benefitting thousands of households in Cork North West.

‘Fine Gael wants to continue to support families with the cost of living and these payments recognise the fact that Christmas is an expensive time of year.

‘These are just two of ten payments that Fine Gael delivered as part of Budget 2024.

‘We have also committed in our manifesto to ensuring that the Double Child Benefit Payment will be made permanent, if we are returned to Government.

‘That’s because we know that working families really appreciate that extra bit of help to deal with their bills.

Cllr. O’ Shea added:

‘On top of the lump sum payments, Fine Gael is doing more to support households in the coming weeks.

‘In January, we will help you with your energy bills through the issuing of a second energy credit.

‘We will also make sure there is more of your own money back in your pocket through the reduction the income tax and USC that we delivered as part of the Budget.

‘This is only possible because of your hard workand the careful management of the economy.’
