FORT 2 FORT Charity Cycle – 20th March 2016

Cork County Council has recently provided sponsorship for the Fort 2 Fort Charity Cycle which will take on Sunday March 20th, raising funds for the Mercy University Hospital Foundation, Five Cork City and County Lions Clubs and Camden Fort Meagher Restoration.

Camden Fort Meagher is a Cork County Council project in association with Rescue Camden.

Fort 2 Fort, now in its 5th year, has firmly established itself in the calendar of Cork’s cycling enthusiasts, catering for all abilities and offering a choice of distances around Cork Harbour.  To date, over 1,900 cyclists have participated in Fort 2 Fort and an incredible €85,180 has been raised.

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr John Paul O’Shea is an Ambassador for the Fort 2 Fort event and will join cyclists taking on the route, ‘I am very much looking forward to taking part in the Fort 2 Fort Charity Cycle and joining those from far and wide to experience firsthand the breathtaking vistas and attractions that we have on our doorstep in Cork County while also raising funds for some incredible causes’.

 

Cork County Council, in association with a number of other Tourist organisations, is actively promoting Cork as a superior tourism destination.  The Fort 2 Fort cycle is an wonderful opportunity to experience the amazing sights and amenities along the Cork coastline while also contributing to very worthy causes.
