Further 12 Houses to be Completed in Boherbue Within Weeks – O’Shea

– Ghost estates serve as reminder of Fianna Fáil’s recklessness in government –

Work is to be completed in the coming weeks on Phase 2 of a Turn-key Housing Development at The Beeches, Boherbue, which will result in 12 further houses being made available for local families, Cork North West Fine Gael General Election candidate Councillor John Paul O’Shea has said. 

Cllr. O’Shea said this week: “Phase 1 of this project was completed in 2019, which resulted in six houses in the unfinished estate being completed. Phase 2 is well underway and is due to be completed within a matter of weeks. This will see a further 12 three-bed houses completed and made available for families. 

“A Turn-key Housing Development is when a private developer would finish construction of a ghost estate, which is the case for The Beeches estate in Boherbue, or build a new estate from scratch and sell it to the Council as completed units. Charleville Firgrove Developments and Cork County Council have worked together to bring this development to fruition. 

“I warmly welcome this news, which is representative of Fine Geal’s action over the past several years to finish out the many ghost estates around the country, which are remnants of the last time Fianna Fáil was in power. Ghost estates are an example of Fianna Fáil’s recklessness in government and it has been Fine Gael who has overseen the completion of these estates, turning unfinished houses into new homes for families,” Cllr. O’Shea said.
