GAA Inclusive Cúl Camp in Cork to make sport more accessible
Jul 07, 2025
A pilot project is being rolled out in Cork to make the GAA Inclusive Cúl Camps accessible to a larger number of children, said Cork North West Fine Gael TD John Paul O’Shea
Deputy O’Shea said more children with intellectual, physical and sensory disabilities and autism in Cork will have the opportunity to participate in an Inclusive Cúl Camp.
“It’s so important that children with disabilities can live full lives in their communities and they should be afforded the opportunity to benefit from sports participation in their own area.
“The GAA Inclusion Cúl Camps are a clear example of community spirit and help foster friendship in all children involved.
“Camps and new activities with friends are an integral part of the summer for so many children, providing them with unforgettable summer memories while nurturing their passion for Gaelic games, and we want all children to have the opportunity to participate.
“It’s great to see that this will be extended to all regions in 2026 so that more children with disabilities will have an opportunity to participate in the Inclusive Cúl Camps throughout the country.
“I hope all children involved have a great, fun filled experience and look forward to seeing this rolled out further across the country”, concluded Deputy O’Shea.
