Joint Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development to resume discussions on LEADER Programme and Rural Development

 

The Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 25 March, to resume discussions on the LEADER Programme and Rural Development.

The meeting at 9:30am in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House will hear from representatives from Donegal LDC, Inishowen Local Development Partnership, IRD Duhallow and Offaly Local Development Company.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy John Paul O’Shea said: “The Committee met early this month with the Department of Rural and Community Development and Gaeltacht and Pobal to discuss policy and administration of the LEADER programme. Members will now hear from representatives from Local Action Groups (LAGs) in Donegal, Cork and Offaly to gain insights regarding operations of the programme at a local level, rural development in general, and related matters.”

The Joint Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
