The July meeting of the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District of Cork County Council will take place on Friday, 4th July 2014 in the County Council Offices at Annabella, Mallow.
These meetings are held once a month, where the six councillors representing the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District Area meet with the engineers that cover the area.
Councillors are entitled to submit a maximum of six motions in advance of the meeting on issues relating to day to day services provided by Cork County Council, such as roads, water, housing, waste water etc… I always submit six motions!! The engineers have a written response to present at the meeting which is then discussed.
My motions for the July meeting are as follows:
- “That the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District put in place with immediate effect a caretaker in all council graveyards in the district. It is unacceptable to see active graveyards in the district in such an overgrown state”.
- “That the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District consults with Jimmy Linehan, Clonteens, Lombardstown in relation to surface water exiting an agricultural entrance across the road from Mr. Linehan’s house and entering his gate”.
- “That the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District repair the section of road in Kilmichael, Ballyclough which was severely damaged over the winter months and place this road on a restoration programme for the future”.
- “That the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District open and widen inlets on the road at Derry, Banteer”.
- “That the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District would investigate the possibility of placing a dedicated “Loading Bay Area” in the square, Kanturk”.
- “That the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District repair the road at Gortroe village and in particular, outside the Costello household where it is extremely dangerous at present”.
