The June meeting of the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District of Cork County Council will take place on Friday, 5th June 2015 in the County Council Offices at Anabella, Mallow.
These meetings are held once a month, where the six councillors representing the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District Area meet with the engineers that cover the area.
Councillors are entitled to submit a maximum of three motions in advance of the meeting on issues relating to day to day services provided by Cork County Council, such as roads, water, housing, waste water etc… The engineers have a written response to present at the meeting which is then discussed.
My motions for the June meeting are as follows:
“That the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District would operate a revised Garden Competition for the five towns in the district in 2015, something similar to that operated in Mallow Town previously. Funding for same would be provided by the Town Development Fund”.
“That the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District would present a report to members outlining the location of all derelict sites within the district, their current status as a derelict site and also, what resources are needed to implement the necessary legislation to make these sites non-derelict in the future”.
“That the members of the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District would be briefed on the ongoing traffic lights operations works in Mallow town and updated as to when it is proposed that these issues would be fully resolved”.
There is an increasing number of derelict houses in the Kanturk/Mallow District which must be dealt with!
