Local Enhancement Programme

Local Enhancement Programme

Local Enhancement Programme 2025

The Department of Rural and Community Development Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2025 will provide capital and current funding to support community groups across Ireland.

The capital funding will support groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas to carry out necessary repairs and improvements to their facilities, purchase equipment such as tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, lawnmowers, canopies and training equipment etc.

The current funding will support groups/organisations with running costs associated with their facilities and groups – such as electricity bills, insurance, refuse costs, rental costs, etc.

This funding will help communities, community groups and committees, allowing them to continue to provide valuable services to the people in their area, and in the process strengthen the bonds that tie communities together. The fund also aims to support local strategic priorities through linkages with Local Economic Community Plans (LECPs).

Welcoming the fund, North Cork Fine Gael TD John Paul O’Shea said, “Community and voluntary groups have an incredibly positive impact in every corner of our county. Funding such as this will help to bolster these efforts, shaping the future of our towns and villages with impactful projects. I encourage groups to consider making an application, to avail of this opportunity to turn those long-awaited plans into a reality.”

The Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development. Please see the following link for a press release by the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, and the Minister of State with responsibility for Community Development and Charities, Joe O’Brien TD: Press Release.

  • Capital funding for use towards carrying out necessary repairs and improvements to facilities, purchase of equipment, etc.

(For drawdown, capital costs must cover period from LCDC grant approval date to 31st October 2025)

  • Current funding (Non-Pay) for use towards running/operating costs, e.g. Utility costs, insurance, audit/accountancy fees, etc.

(Costs related to the period from 1st June 2024 – 30th May 2025 only eligible under this category to be claimed by 31st October 2025)
