Following its successful inception in mid-May, Local Link Clare-Limerick will officially launch the new 521 Charleville to Newcastle West bus service later this month, North Cork Fine Gael Councillor John Paul O’Shea has said.
Cllr. O’Shea said the new bus service provides a valuable public transport service between the towns of Charleville in North Cork and Newcastle West in Limerick, as well as serving a number of intermediate towns and villages.
The bus service operates six days a week (Monday to Saturday), six times a day, serving Charleville, Newtownshandrum, Milford, Dromcollogher, Feenag
h , Kilmeedy, Feohanagh, Castlemahon and Newcastle West.Cllr. O’Shea said: “I am a strong supporter of developing new public transport routes in the North Cork area and this bus service, between Charleville and Newcastle West, is very welcome indeed. Services begin from both towns at 7.30am each morning between Monday and Saturday and the last bus leaves at 17.50pm, arriving at its final destination at 19.10pm, so this is a very comprehensive service.
“It is vital that we develop greater connectivity for communities in North Cork and our near neighbours in Limerick. A strong public transport network is a key element in sustaining communities across rural Ireland,” he said.
