Make the Hooley in Hall your Summer Social!

Make the Hooley in Hall your Summer Social!

Considering a Summer Social for team bonding or as part of your ‘Social Club’ calendar of activities? Thinking of having a work night out or just need an excuse to catch up with friends?

The Mayor of County Cork is hosting an event jam packed with live music, bbq and refreshing summer drinks in the slightly unexpected venue of County Hall.

The quirkey ‘Hooley in The Hall’ will be a casual event space with a fun ‘country’ theme for a very memorable night out.

Taking place on 17th June, from 7.30pm, for one evening only the usual hub of administration for Cork County will be decked out with bunting, picnic tables and hay bales to set the scene before Irish cajun band ‘Ray Barron and Friends’ (of Two Time Polka fame) will warm up the crowd before appetites are sated with mouth-watering bbq fare. Celeb MC on the night will be the hilarious and vivacious Eilish O’ Carroll of  Mrs Brown’s Boys who is sure to entertain.

The merriment continues as the massively popular ‘Whole Hog Band’ take to the stage playing covers of Americana, Bluegrass, Country, Rock, & Irish music that will have everyone on the dancefloor. If that wasn’t enough, some fun country style games will be dotted around the hall allowing a little bit of friendly rivalry to showcase who has the best skills. When a night is great you don’t want to head home early and with this in mind, Colum McGrath Radio DJ with C103FM will take to the decks until the small hours.

Proceeds from Hooley in The Hall will go to Pieta House and Mercy Foundation and tickets priced €40 are available at reception in The County Hall, at any of the Council’s eight Municipal District Offices or through the Mercy University Hospital Foundation website You may also e-mail or call Edel (Howard) Bodie on (021) 4285367 for tickets. Group bookings most welcome and discounts may apply.

The Hooley in the Hall is in association with title sponsor The Kingsley and The Fota Collection, and media partners The Irish Examiner.
