The February meeting of the Mallow Area Roads Committee of Cork County Council will take place on Tuesday 11th February 2014 in the County Council Offices at Annabella, Mallow.
These meetings are held once a month, where the five councillors representing the Mallow Electoral Area and the Mayor of Mallow town meet with the engineers that cover the Mallow Roads Area.
Councillors are entitled to submit a maximum of six motions in advance of the meeting on issues relating to roads and road maintenance. I always submit six!! The engineers have a written response to present at the meeting which is then discussed.
My motions for the February meeting are as follows:
“That following the recent bad weather, Cork County Council urgently repair the road and open drains on the L- 5387-18 road at Greenhill/Monee, Mourneabbey as a matter of urgency”
“That Cork County Council repair the road and undertake the necessary road crossings to take surface water off the L-12132-0 road from Bweeng National School to Aghadallane bridge to prevent re-occurring potholes appearing in this location”
“That Cork County Council following numerous recent incidents place the R619 road from Dromahane to Bweeng on the salting route for the Mallow area as it always had been on the route before”
“That Cork County Council repair the road and seek a long term solution to taking water off the L-1218-0 road at Island, Burnfort”.
“That Cork County Council repair the road and open inlets on the L- 5395-21 road at Clogheen, Ballinamona, Mallow”
“That Cork County Council repair and firmly set in place the bridge stones and capping at the bridge entering Ballyviniter, Mallow from the Spa direction so as to ensure the safety and security of this protected structure”.
