The February meeting of the Mallow Area Roads Committee of Cork County Council will take place on Tuesday 12th February 2013 in the County Council Offices at Annabella, Mallow.
These meetings are held once a month, where the five councillors representing the Mallow Electoral Area and the Mayor of Mallow Town meet with the engineers that cover the Mallow Area Roads.
Councillors are entitled to submit a maximum of six motions in advance of the meeting on issues relating to roads and road maintenance. I always submit six!! The engineers have a written response to present at the meeting which is then discussed.
My motions for the February meeting are as follows:
“That Cork County Council repair the footpath directly across the road from Kelly’s Shop, Dromahane as it currently a danger to pedestrians”.
“That Cork County Council complete works on the gully that was put in place on the Glen Road, Banteer which was restored in 2010”.
“That Cork County Council complete works on the gully that was put in place outside the house of Jimmy Healy, Cregane, Lombardstown which was restored in 2011”.
“That Cork County Council outline when the surface water issue across from Hickeys pub, Dromahane will be rectified”.
“That Cork County Council repairs gully at Horgan’s Cross, Lombardstown and re-erect junction ahead sign alerting people coming from the village side which was damaged in recent months”.
“That Cork County Council re-erects regional signpost sign on the R619 road at Junction L-5362, Bweeng which were knocked in recent icy weather”.
