The January 2013 meeting of the Mallow Area Roads Committee of Cork County Council will take place on Tuesday 8th January 2013 in the County Council Offices at Annabella, Mallow.
These meetings are held once a month, where the five councillors representing the Mallow Electoral Area and the Mayor of Mallow Town meet with the engineers that cover the Mallow Area Roads.
Councillors are entitled to submit a maximum of six motions in advance of the meeting on issues relating to roads and road maintenance. I also submit six!! The engineers have a written response to present at the meeting which is then discussed.
My motions for the January meeting are as follows:
- That Cork County Council open and widen inlets and repair the potholes on the L 5370 (Clashmorgan) road.
- That Cork County Council open and widen inlets and repair the potholes on the L 1210 (Newberry to Glantane) road.
- That Cork County Council reviews signage on the N20 at Ballybeg, Buttevant, outlining the dangers associated with this area and increase/improve signage where necessary.
- That Cork County Council replaces the STOP sign and pole at Lombardstown Cross which was damaged over Christmas. It would be extremely beneficial if reflector markings could be placed on the replacement pole and concrete based was painted to prevent further damage occuring.
- That Cork County Council review the current road condition outside the Du Moulin & O’ Keeffe Households, Carrigane, Lombardstown and identify what works need to be done here to alleviate the hardship endured by residents here at present.
- That Cork County Council open and widen inlets and repair the potholes on the L 5105-0 (Subulter, Castlemagner) which is in very poor condition for some months now.
