Mallow Area Roads Meeting of Cork County Council – September 2013

The September meeting of the Mallow Area Roads Committee of Cork County Council will take place on Tuesday 10th September 2013 last in the County Council Offices at Annabella, Mallow.

These meetings are held once a month, where the five councillors representing the Mallow Electoral Area and the Mayor of Mallow town meet with the engineers that cover the Mallow Roads Area.

Councillors are entitled to submit a maximum of six motions in advance of the meeting on issues relating to roads and road maintenance. I always submit six!! The engineers have a written response to present at the meeting which is then discussed.

My motions for the September meeting are as follows:

“That Cork County Council repairs the L-5341 road (Bweeng side) and the remainder of this road that has not been restored be considered for future programmes”.

“That Cork County Council repairs the L-96191-2 road at Bweeng East which is in very poor condition presently”.

“That Cork County Council liaises with Shanballymore GAA Club in their request for double yellow lines outside the GAA Club so traffic can continuously flow through the village at all times and to ensure safe access to the village for emergency vehicles during events at the GAA pitch”.

“That Cork County Council repairs the L-5332-0 Road at Gortmore, Banteer”.

“That Cork County Council review traffic calming measures in Dromahane village and in particular on the through road of the R619 and identify what measures can be implemented in order to slow traffic down through this busy village”.

“That Cork County Council carry out the necessary drainage work on road properties across form Kiely’s Terrace, Lombardstown  to prevent surface water entering their properties”.
