Milk the “Bald Cow” this weekend in Lombardstown
Would you like to milk the bald cow? If so, the North Cork village of Lombardstown is the place to be this Sunday, 2nd September 2012.
Lombardstown Community Council is hosting a fun packed family day which will center around the village’s tennis court and green area. The day will feature a wide range of entertainment for the entire family including bouncy castles, obstacle courses, mobile petting farm, milk the cow and many more activities. There will also be a variety of garden games that will no doubt test people’s knowledge and strength. A lively tennis blitz will be played on the day with qualifiers for the final taking place during the week.
Jerry O’ Regan, Chairman of Lombardstown Community Council said “We are all looking forward to having our very first family fun day in Lombardstown this weekend. The preparations have now all been completed with a great selection of activities and entertainment organised for the entire family to enjoy. I would encourage all the family to come and join us on Sunday which will be a great day. Days like these give people of the area an opportunity to meet their neighbours and offer a key social gathering for everyone to enjoy”.
Market stalls will also feature prominently during the fun day with home baking, vegetables herbs and preserves the order of the day. Handmade cards and jewellery, all locally produced will also be on offer along with a demonstration on how the tradition of wicker basket making is still alive and well. Face painting facilities and a designated nail bar for the ladies is certain to brighten and colour the day. A full range BBQ will be alight to cater for the appetite of all along with a selection of ice creams to cool things a little. Lombardstown Community Council will also sell refreshments so everyone is catered for.
Mr. O’ Regan added “The fun day is the culmination of the many ideas suggested by the community of Lombardstown and I am delighted we can proceed with this event. I hope everyone will enjoy this wonderful feast of activities and all proceeds from the fun day will go directly back into the community to develop amenities further into the future”.
