I am delighted to see Minister Heather Humphreys has announced a new €9 million fund to support community groups and clubs impacted by the Pandemic.
The Community Activities Fund will provide small grants to support facilities such as community centres, men’s and women’s sheds, parish halls and youth centres.
Cork County Council has been allocated €312,599 from this fund.
Groups will also be able to use the funding to carry out necessary repairs and to purchase equipment such as tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, lawnmowers, canopies and training equipment.
This funding is about giving a helping hand to our local groups and clubs in North Cork, which have continued to serve their community during Covid-19.
This Fund is a key part of Our Rural Future, which is already having a big difference right across the country.
The North Cork Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) will administer the programme and will publish more details on how to apply in the coming weeks.
