Minister for Business, Enterprise & Innovation, Heather Humphreys TD, paid a recent visit to Scoil Mhuire, Kanturk for a briefing from the school’s Transition Year students on their successful mini-company enterprise programme. Minister Humpheys visited the school on the invitation of North Cork Fine Gael Councillor John Paul O’Shea & his colleague Cllr. Gerard Murphy.
Speaking of the visit, Cllr. O’Shea said: “I was delighted to welcome my colleague, Minister Humphreys, to Scoil Mhuire where we received a terrific presentation on the school’s Transition Year mini–company projects. The students and their projects demonstrated the enterprise and innovation that is so important in today’s Ireland.
“My compliments to all of the students involved, to Scoil Mhuire principal Miriam Downey, and to teachers Gerald Crotty & Julia Barry. Each of these students has a very bright future, if these projects are anything to go by!” Cllr. O’Shea added.
