O’Shea Welcomes Progress on Affordable Housing Plans for Pulleen, Kanturk

O’Shea Welcomes Progress on Affordable Housing Plans for Pulleen, Kanturk

Cork North West Fine Gael TD, Deputy John Paul O’Shea, has welcomed progress on plans to deliver 20 affordable homes in Pulleen, Kanturk, as the Affordable Housing Fund (AHF) application for the project has now been approved by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (DHLGH).

Deputy O’Shea said this development represents a significant step towards providing more affordable housing options for local families and first-time buyers in the Kanturk area. “I am very pleased to see this important project in Pulleen move forward. The delivery of 20 affordable homes would be a major boost for Kanturk, helping more people to own their own home at an affordable price, right here in their own community.”

He added that the proposed development forms part of Cork County Council’s wider housing delivery programme under the Government’s Housing for All strategy.

Deputy O’Shea added “Supporting towns like Kanturk through sustainable and affordable housing is a key government priority. I will continue to engage with both Cork County Council and the Department to ensure this project is delivered as quickly as possible and we can get the application process open to customers.”

The Affordable Housing Fund (AHF) provides financial support to local authorities to deliver affordable homes for purchase by eligible households. The Pulleen development will contribute to meeting strong local demand for housing in North Cork.
