Taste Cork to showcase Cork’s unique food heritage at Mallow Family Food & Craft Christmas Fair this weekend

Taste Cork to showcase Cork’s unique food heritage at Mallow Family Food & Craft Christmas Fair this weekend

The Taste Cork brand will feature prominently at the annual Mallow Christmas Family Food & Craft fair which will be held on Saturday 3rd December next from 12 noon until 5pm on the grounds of Mallow Castle.

Entry to the Christmas Fair is free for all the family so everyone is encouraged to come along, taste what is on offer on the day and to purchase those important gifts for your loved ones this Christmas. The fair will be held outdoors in the courtyard of Mallow Castle with a large number of food & craft stalls to converge at Mallow Castle for the day. There will also be a large marquee on the grounds which will be host to a series of entertainment throughout the day.

Joan Kelleher, Business Development Officer with Cork County Council’s Local Enterprise Office (LEO) and Taste of Cork co-ordinator said “It is great to see so many food and craft producers in the North Cork region taking part in this year’s Christmas Fair. We in the LEO Office have supported a significant amount of small producers and crafts people in the creation and expansion of their businesses and it is wonderful to see them now progressing to take part in Christmas markets and many other events. The Mallow Family Food & Craft Christmas Fair follows a very successful Taste of North Cork event which we hosted during the summer at Cork Racecourse as part of the Mallow Homes & Garden Festival. The Mallow Family Food & Craft Christmas Fair is setting up to be another such success and I want to wish all those involved the very best of luck for the day”.

Ms. Rebecca O’Keeffe, Food Executive with Taste Cork said, “I’m delighted Taste Cork is involved with the Mallow Family Food & Craft Christmas Fair as it allows us to promote and link our network of food producers to those who love food. We are now more than ever questioning the provenance of the food we buy and by having Taste Cork present allows us to bring the producers right to the table of the consumer.”

The Mallow Family Food & Craft Christmas Fair is being organised by Mallow Development Partnership in association with Mallow Chamber and Cork County Council. Cork County Council is the main sponsors of the Fair.

Barry John Ryan, Chairman of the Mallow Family Food & Craft Christmas Fair said ” We in Mallow are delighted to have the Taste of Cork and the Local Enterprise Office on board for this year’s Fair. We are truly blessed to have such talented artisan and craft producers here in Cork and you will not be disappointed with what they all will have on offer to the public on Saturday 3rd December. I would encourage everyone to come to Mallow Castle on the day and enjoy what our local producers have on offer along with enjoying the busy line up of Christmas entertainment we have on offer for the family throughout the day”.
