Mallow Castle will be the star venue for the upcoming South Of Ireland Pipe Band Championships on Saturday 2nd June next.
The event which will commence at 1pm sharp and continue until 5pm will be the only outdoor contest the Munster Branch of the Irish Pipe band Association will host this season. It is anticipated that a large selection of Pipe Bands from all over the South of Ireland will converge on the front lawn of Mallow Castle providing a wealth of Pipe Band music for the afternoon of Saturday 2nd June.
Local Fine Gael Councillor Cllr. John Paul O’ Shea welcomed the announcement of the South Of Ireland Pipe Band Championships returning to Mallow Castle by stating “This is one of the reasons why Cork County Council purchased Mallow Castle is so we as a Town in Mallow can hosts such events like the South Of Ireland Pipe Band Championships. We are looking forward to welcoming all of the participating bands on the day from all over the South of Ireland and showcasing to all who comes to witness these Championships the beauty that is Mallow Castle and its grounds along with the Town of Mallow itself.
The event is FREE and everyone is invited to come to Mallow Castle on Saturday 2nd June next from 1pm-5pm and enjoy the Pipe Band music.
