Free community event takes place at Mallow Castle this Sunday, September 6th
Fine Gael TD for Cork North West, Deputy John Paul O’Shea, is encouraging people from across North Cork and the surrounding communities to attend the fifth annual ‘Together at the Castle’ mental health and wellbeing day at Mallow Castle this Sunday, September 6th.
The free event will run from 1pm to 5pm and is open to everyone, with a wide range of activities, entertainment, workshops and information available for people of all ages.
Up to 50 local and regional community groups and organisations will be represented at the event, providing an opportunity for people to learn more about the mental health and wellbeing supports available locally, while also enjoying a great family day out.
Deputy O’Shea said “I would strongly encourage people from across North Cork and Cork North West to come along to Mallow Castle this Sunday for what has become a fantastic annual community event.
“Mental health and wellbeing affects all of us, and it is important that people know what supports and services are available locally and where they can turn to if they or someone they know needs help.
“What makes Together at the Castle particularly special is the community spirit behind it. It brings together local organisations, voluntary groups, statutory services and community representatives in a very welcoming and accessible setting.
“There will be something for everyone, with activities for children and families, entertainment, food and drink, workshops and plenty of opportunities to find out more about the supports available in our communities.
“I want to commend the HSE South West, Mallow Chamber of Commerce, Cork County Council, Cork Mental Health Foundation, Avondhu Blackwater Partnership, See Change, Shine, An Garda Síochána and all of the organisations and volunteers involved in making this event happen for the fifth year.
“I would encourage as many people as possible to come along, bring the family and enjoy what promises to be a really positive afternoon in Mallow Castle.”
Together at the Castle takes place at Mallow Castle on Sunday, September 6, from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is free and the event is open to all.
The event is organised through a partnership involving the HSE South West, Mallow Chamber of Commerce, Cork County Council, Cork Mental Health Foundation, Avondhu Blackwater Partnership, See Change, Shine and An Garda Síochána, alongside a wide range of local community and voluntary organisations.
