North Cork Fine Gael Councillor John Paul O’ Shea send his good wishes to the North Cork village of Bweeng who have been nominated by Cork County Council for the 2018 IPB Pride of Place Competition, in association with Co-Operation Ireland.
The Pride of Place competition, now in its 16th year, has enjoyed tremendous success and continues to grow in popularity. The competition acknowledges the great work carried out by communities all over the island of Ireland. It also recognises the work undertaken to create viable, vibrant and visible communities while giving local authorities the opportunity to participate in the heart of their communities and contribute to their growth.
Commenting this week, Cllr. O’ Shea said “Bweeng is a very vibrant and inclusive community and I am delighted as a local representative in Cork County Council for the Bweeng area to see the community being nominated for these awards. The entire community is truly deserving of this attention and I am sure the judges will be treated to a grand tour of the facilities Bweeng has to offer on their arrival next week”.
Judging will take place on Wednesday 1st August next from 3pm – 6pm. The larger the attendance from the community on the day, the better. So all available, please come along to Bweeng Community Centre on Wednesday 1st August at 3pm. We urge you to take “pride in your place” and keep your village clean and tidy.
