Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development to meet with Minister Dara Calleary and Minister of State Jerry Buttimer

The Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 2 July, with the Minister for Social Protection; and Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD, and the Minister of State with responsibility for Community Development and Charities, and Minister of State with responsibility for Rural Transport, Jerry Buttimer TD.

 

The Dáil Select Committee will meet with Minister Calleary and Minister Buttimer at 9:30am in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House to consider the Revised Estimates for Public Services 2025 – Vote 42 — Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht.

 

This will be followed by the Joint Committee at 10:30am for a wider engagement with Minister Calleary and Minister Buttimer on matters relating to the Department of Rural and Community Development and Gaeltacht.

 

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy John Paul O’Shea said: “The Committee welcomes this early opportunity to engage with Minister Calleary and Minister Buttimer and the Select Committee of Dáil Members will consider the various programmes and related expenditure under the Vote for of Rural and Community Development and Gaeltacht.

 

“This will be followed by the Joint Committee of TDs and Senators engaging with Minister Calleary and Minister Buttimer on key matters regarding our communities and rural development that fall under their remit, including Departmental policies and priorities, and related matters.”

 

The Joint Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
