Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development to meet with Minister Dara Calleary

The Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development will meet today, Wednesday, 11 June, with the Minister for Social Protection; and Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD. 

The Dáil Select Committee will meet with Minister Calleary at 9:30am in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House to consider the Revised Estimates for Public Services 2025 – Vote 37 (Social Protection). 

This will be followed by the Joint Committee at 10:45am for a wider engagement with the Minister on matters relating to the Department of Social Protection.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy John Paul O’Shea said: “The Committee welcomes this early opportunity to engage with the Minister Calleary. The Social Protection vote is significant in terms of overall expenditure and the Select Committee of Dáil Members will consider the various programmes and related expenditure.

“This will be followed by the Joint Committee of TDs and Senators engaging with Minister Calleary on key social protection matters that fall under his remit, including Departmental policies and priorities, and related matters.”

The Joint Committee on Social Protection, Rural and Community Development has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
