“I also want to acknowledge the work of the local authorities who support communities throughout the year, fostering environments where people feel connected, supported, and empowered to thrive. We will continue to work together so that we can build strong, vibrant spaces for all members of our communities.”
Deputy O’Shea said: “Everyone living here has benefitted in some way from the work carried out by our local organisations and community groups, with so many of the people involved giving their time voluntarily.
“Fine Gael is committed to supporting our local communities to shape their future and this funding will enable them to do that. I encourage all groups interested in applying for funding to keep an eye out over the coming week when their Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) that administers the fund in their area will open the Programme for applications.”
