“This programme will empower communities in Cork to take local action on climate change, while also contributing to our national climate and energy goals.

“We’ve already seen some brilliant examples of climate action being taken at a local level in Cork, underpinned by local authority leadership and community ownership.  Projects funded under the programme have delivered a wide range of benefits, including reduced energy costs, enhanced biodiversity and wildlife restoration.

“Not only will they contribute to reaching our climate targets but will make a practical, positive difference for people in their day to day lives.

“I look forward to seeing these projects coming to fruition across Cork and seeing the benefit they have for our communities,” Deputy O’Shea concluded.
