Cork County Council Announces Arts Grants Scheme 2024

A record number of artists and arts organisations are to receive funding from Cork County Council through its Arts Grants Scheme 2024.

Some organisations in North Cork who will benefit from this funding include:

Ø  Art for the Heart – €2,000

Ø  Bruach Na Carraige – €1,000

Ø  Cór Mhagh Eala – €800

Ø  Cullen Pipe Band – €900

Ø  Doneraile Samhain Festival – €500

Ø  Dromina Community Council – €2,000

Ø  Dromtariffe Drama Group – €400

Ø  Firmount Art Group – €250

Ø  Freemount Tidy Towns – €1,000

Ø  Glen Theatre Drama Group – €1,000

Ø  Kanturk Arts Festival – €2,200

Ø  Knocknagree Fairfield Tidy Towns Committee – €2,000

Ø  Mallow Art Club – €800

Ø  Mallow Arts Collective – €3,000

Ø Mallow Camera Club – €800

Ø Mallow Scribes Writing Group – €800

Ø  Maurice O’Keeffe Festival  – €1,500

Ø  Meelin Amateur Dramatics – €300

Ø  Millstreet Pipe Band – €500

Ø  Rockchapel Gathering Festival – €500

Ø  South of Ireland Pipe Band Championships – €1,000

Ø  The Blackwater Valley Makers – €2,500

Ø  West End Art Studios – €1,500

Welcoming the funding allocation, North Cork Fine Gael Councillor John Paul O’Shea said “The arts and culture are central to our lives individually and as a society, and it is important that Cork County Council plays a role in supporting such activity. The wide range of proposals from arts organisations around the county is very heartening, demonstrating a desire to help our citizens connect through participation in arts and cultural activity.

Cllr. O’Shea added “The funding allocated will be put to great use enabling festivals, artists, and voluntary arts organisations to deliver projects that will have real impact in putting art at the heart of our lives in 2024”.
