Deputy O’Shea and Cllr. Dawson Welcome Council Support for Doneraile Clean-Up

Cork North West Fine Gael TD Deputy John Paul O’Shea and local Cllr. Kay Dawson have welcomed Cork County Council’s commitment to work hand-in-hand with the people of Doneraile to keep it looking its best.

The Council has confirmed a programme of works that will give Doneraile a fresh lift and support the efforts being made by local volunteers and community groups.

The works will include:

  • Weeding and tidying of footpaths.

  • Cleaning of the approach roads and the heart of the village.

  • Power washing of village centre footpaths.

  • Cleaning of all street furniture.

  • A full gully clean ahead of the winter months.

  • Adding the Cornahinch Amenity to the regular grass cutting programme.

  • Twice-yearly maintenance of shrubs and planting.

Deputy O’Shea said “This is really good news for Doneraile. Our communities take such pride in our towns and villages, and these commitments from Cork County Council will make a big difference in Doneraile. It’s about working together — the Council supporting the great work already being done by local volunteers.”

Cllr. Dawson added “Doneraile is a special place, full of energy and community spirit. We’re delighted to see the Council stepping in to support us with this programme of works. It will help ensure Doneraile is clean, welcoming, and cared for into the future.”

Both representatives also thanked the people of Doneraile for their continued efforts, noting that the new measures will build on the work of local groups to keep the area vibrant and thriving.
