Several more clubs in Cork are set to receive a funding boost following a successful appeal under the Community Sport Facilities Fund, Cork North West Fine Gael General Election candidate Councillor John Paul O’Shea has said.
Cllr. O’Shea, who has been a staunch advocate for local sports clubs, expressed his delight at the new developments;
“I am thrilled to hear that another club in Cork North West has been successful in their appeals for funding. Congratulations to Liscarroll Handball Club in their successful appeal for the construction of a new handball alley.
“This additional funding represents a major investment in our communities and will support the continued development of vital sports facilities across the region.
“This club join the five previously announced clubs, who will now be able to make critical improvements to their sporting facilities, including upgrades to playing pitches, clubhouse amenities, gym equipment, changing rooms, and other infrastructure improvements.
“These funds will assist clubs in creating safe, modern environments for players of all ages and abilities to participate in sports, fostering an inclusive culture of physical activity.
Cllr. O’Shea added; “With so many clubs benefitting, the impact will be felt well beyond the sports field, contributing to the overall health and well-being of residents across Cork North West
