Pupils, staff and parents of Glantane National School are celebrating the launch of their very own school website www.glantanens.ie
The school website shows the diverse range of activities on offer for the pupils and also functions as an information source for parents, pupils, teachers and the local community. The website features a calendar and a blog which the school staff and pupils can update together. The calendar is particularly useful as it allows parents to see when school events or holidays are coming up. The blog will be used to showcase and archive various events that involve the pupils and staff of Glantane NS.
Attending the launch, local Cllr. John Paul O’ Shea (Ind), who is also a member of the Board of Management at the school said “The new website is a very welcome boost for the school and a further step in bringing Glantane National School into the era of modern technology. The website is a wonderful opportunity for the school to showcase how much is happening on a daily basis within the school, not only from an educational point of view, but also from the many other physical, sporting and social activities the children are involved in”.
Cllr. O’ Shea added “I would particularly like to thank Tony Ryan, parent of Donagh & Caoimhe at the school and Bríd Ryan, Deputy Principal of Glantane NS who have put in some much time and effort in recent months creating the website. I would also like to pay tribute to the Principal, Eamonn O’ Sullivan, the staff, Board of Management and Parents Association of the school who have all been very supportive of the development of the website”.
