Due to excessive demand on the Mallow Water Supply the reservoir is now at a very low level. As a result the higher areas of the town are now experiencing disruptions to their supplies. These areas include Powerscourt, Canon Sheehan Place, Manor Park, The Beeches, Connolly Avenue, Spa Glen, The Ironmines, Beechwood Park etc. Unfortunately, it is expected that disruption will last for a number of days.
Cork County Council will be providing tankers of water every day until the disruption ends. They will be provided from 12.00 to 4.00pm at the car park at the Church of the Resurrection and also at Bowling Green car park (in front of the Garda Station). The only exception to the above time is Christmas Day when the tankers will be provided from 10.00 to 12.00am.
We are appealing to consumers to conserve water in order to alleviate the problem.
