I would like to invite you all to attend an information and discussion session at the Sliabh Luachra Heritage Centre, Scartaglen on Thursday, December 7th at 7.30 pm, when details of the proposed Sliabh Luachra Music Project will be announced.
This initiative is promoted by the County Councils of Cork, Kerry and Limerick, and is co- funded by the Arts Council.
The overall aim of this programme is to work with local music organisations, musicians and festivals to support and promote traditional music activity in the Sliabh Luachra region.
Among the topics that will be discussed are:
· Sustaining the musical activity and traditions of Sliabh Luachra.
· Supporting and developing local cultural networks
· Development of a Sliabh Luachra Music Residency
· Celebrating, preserving and promoting Sliabh Luachra music and its unique cultural heritage
· Potential for the development of cultural and creative tourism to the region
The occasion will also afford the opportunity for people to ask further questions of us, and also to provide valuable insights to guide the roll out of the project
Arts Officers from Cork, Kerry and Limerick County Council will be in attendance. Please extend this invitation to other people who may be interested.
