The May meeting of the Mallow Area Roads Committee of Cork County Council will take place on Tuesday 14th May 2013 in the County Council Offices at Annabella, Mallow.
These meetings are held once a month, where the five councillors representing the Mallow Electoral Area and the Mayor of Mallow Town meet with the engineers that cover the Mallow Area Roads.
Councillors are entitled to submit a maximum of six motions in advance of the meeting on issues relating to roads and road maintenance. I always submit six!! The engineers have a written response to present at the meeting which is then discussed.
My motions for the May meeting are as follows:
“That Cork County Council empty and clean gullies within the village of Dromahane”.
“That Cork County Council repair potholes and open inlets on all approach roads to Churchtown village”.
“That Cork County Council investigate the surface water issue at the entrance to the Kiely household, Gneeves, Glantane and advise on appropriate solutions to this ongoing problem”.
That Cork County Council erects a barrier/railing/fencing alongside the recently erected new bridge as previously agreed at Abbeyswell, Lombardstown in the interest of safety”.
“That Cork County Council erects safety signs on the Dromahane to Glantane road at Kilcolman, to advise motorist of the dangerous open drain in this area. There have been a number of accidents at this location in recent weeks”.
“That Cork County Council receives an update on the erection of junction ahead signs on the L-1210-90 road at Lackineen Cross, Lombardstown”.
