Construction is now underway at Clós an tSuláin, Masseytown, where a major new €8.5m development will deliver 18 age friendly social homes and a purpose built residence for people living with acquired brain injury.
Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Mary Linehan Foley, joined Tuath Housing, Cork County Council, the Department of Housing, and Acquired Brain Injury Ireland at the sod turning ceremony.
Set for completion in 2027, the project will provide:
-
10 two bed & 8 one bed social homes managed by Tuath Housing
-
A five bed ABI Ireland home supporting long term, community based rehabilitation
-
A strong example of integrated, inclusive housing in County Cork
This development is backed by significant Government support — funded through the Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and delivered in partnership with Cork County Council.
Tuath Housing is leading the project as a direct build, overseeing all construction works and appointing Cumnor Construction as the main contractor.
This milestone marks a major step forward in delivering inclusive, community focused housing for older residents and people living with acquired brain injury.
