O’Shea Congratulates Cork County Councils Anti Litter Challenge Winners throughout Cork North West

Cork County Council has announced the winners of the 2025 Anti-Litter Challenge.

A record crowd of more than 170 people attended a special event at Cork County Hall on Monday, September 15th where the leading towns and villages were recognised. 

The competition was first introduced in the 1990s to tackle the problem of litter in Cork County towns and villages. Communities compete and are scored by judges based on the presence or absence of litter on their roads and streets. 

The 2025 winning towns are Millstreet, Kanturk and Crosshaven. Macroom was named the most improved with Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh and Knocknagree winning the village titles.

                                                          3rd Youghal

Towns Category C                             1st Crosshaven

                                                          2nd Mitchelstown
